Texas Mu ("the app") is a members-only app for Sigma Phi Epsilon, Texas Mu. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. The app is intended for verified chapter members and is not directed at children.
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google to create your member account.
Information you choose to log — meals, workouts, sleep, body metrics, and progress photos. This data is entered voluntarily by you and is used to show your own trends and, where applicable, chapter-level summaries to admins.
Challenges you complete, awards you receive, and your points ledger.
Your profile details (name, pledge class, contact info) are visible to other verified members in the chapter directory. Syncing your phone contacts is optional and only used to help you find brothers already using the app.
Basic technical data (such as push notification tokens, if enabled) needed to operate the app reliably.
We use the information above to operate the app's core features: authenticating you, displaying your own health & fitness trends, running the points system, showing the chapter directory and history content, and letting admins export chapter-wide reports for chapter management purposes.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Your health & fitness entries and points activity are visible to you and to chapter admins (for chapter management and reporting). Your directory profile is visible to other verified chapter members. We do not share your data with parties outside the chapter's app administration, except service providers who help us run the app (see below).
App data is stored in a managed Postgres database (Neon). Photos (profile pictures and progress photos) are stored with Cloudinary, an image hosting provider. Both providers process data on our behalf under their own security practices, and we do not grant them rights to use your data beyond providing their service to us.
We retain your account and logged data for as long as your account is active, so you can see your own history and trends. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us at the address below; we'll process deletion requests promptly, except where we're required to retain limited records for legitimate administrative or legal purposes.
Texas Mu is intended for college-age chapter members and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify members in the app.
